A recent filing indicates that Trump Media & Technology Group is expanding into the cryptocurrency and telecommunications sectors. The company, known for its platforms Truth Social and Truth+, has submitted a request to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to register an Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) focused on Bitcoin and Ethereum. Concurrently, it announced the launch of a $499 Trump-branded smartphone along with a corresponding service plan.
The registration statement, dated June 16, reveals that the proposed ETF aims to allocate 75% of its assets to Bitcoin and the remaining 25% to Ethereum. Should the SEC approve the proposal, the fund is expected to be listed on NYSE Arca in partnership with Yorkville America Digital. The ETF plans to hold the digital tokens directly in custody, rather than relying on futures contracts or derivatives.
According to reports, Crypto.com will act as the sole custodian and primary execution agent for the ETF, also providing staking and liquidity services for the Ethereum component. This arrangement may address the SEC's concerns regarding secure storage and regulatory oversight. However, approval for the ETF remains uncertain, as previous spot crypto ETF proposals have encountered delays and rejections due to concerns about market manipulation and investor safety.
In a separate announcement at Trump Tower, the Trump Organization introduced “Trump Mobile,” a new mobile phone and network service. The smartphone will be available for $499 starting in September, with a monthly service plan priced at $47.45, reflecting Trump's tenure as the 47th President of the United States.
BREAKING: The Trump Organization has unveiled Trump Mobile, offering 5G service starting at $47.45 in collaboration with the three major carriers, along with the launch of the “T1 Phone” in August. This device is characterized as a stylish, gold smartphone designed for high performance.
The phone is manufactured in the United States, and customer support will be provided through local call centers. The service will utilize existing network infrastructures, with the Trump brand licensed for use rather than establishing its own cellular towers.
To attract users, Trump Mobile will include value-added services such as telemedicine consultations, international texting to 100 countries, and roadside assistance. Donald Trump Jr. emphasized these features as part of a flat-fee package intended to differentiate the offering from major carriers. The goal is to provide customers with more than just standard voice and data services, integrating health and automotive support into a single monthly bill.
The trademark applications submitted by DTTM Operations encompass telecommunications services and accessories under the Trump brand.
